As passionate as I am about makeup, I've exceedingly more passionate about skincare.
Skin is your canvas. Its the base for good health and good makeup. Ive never looked at makeup as a "mask" or a way to change my features. I have always loved and appreciated makeup as an art but its easy to get lost in the world of beauty and what the media portrays as universal beauty.
In all honesty, I THINK ITS A BIG CROCK OF SHIT. I take pride in my appearance and my well-being so naturally, I take care of myself and know when to wear makeup looks appropriately for occasions. That being said, I've never placed value on anyone based on their appearance or makeup. The media kills me with their ideas of beauty and how they portray it to women of all ages. In real life, I think everyone I've ever met looks better without makeup. That could be because I LOVE people. I love their natural bone structure, their freckles, their sunspots, and even their uneven texture. Yet I also understand and know the need to feel beautiful and radiant. Hence why I'm educating you on skincare. With happy healthy skin, you can wear less makeup and still get amazing, clean, and classic makeup results.
This is my bedroom. I proudly display my skincare because 1- its amazing, 2- IT WORKS and I love looking at it reminding me why I'm nurturing my skin, and 3- I want to educate everyone I know who comes to my house. Seriously! I want to have doubles of everything just so my friends and family can use them when they come over to my house. I took this image this morning as well as the two images I'm about to share of myself using the mask then with no makeup on. Some of you may argue that I already had good skin. Fact: I DIDN'T. I DON'T. As a young adult, I live an active and healthy lifestyle which has helped with my skin over the years and now I use only the best and healthiest skincare and cosmetics.
Last night I washed my face with the TATA HARPER Nourishing Oil Cleanser to remove my makeup then I double cleansed and followed it with the TATA HARPER Regenerating Cleanser to really clean and penetrate deeper into my skin. I ALWAYS DOUBLE CLEANSE. If you wear makeup (everyone) you have to!! I then sprayed my face with the TATA HARPER Hydrating Floral Essence. All of these products help promote collagen in the skin, repair damage caused by sun exposure, and help with the overall radiance and volume of the skin. I noticed INSTANT results guys!
This morning I washed my face with the TATA HARPER Regenerating Cleanser then I did my weekly application of the MAY LINDSTROM 'the problem solver' face mask. This face mask is a powder that is activated with water. It has charcoal and other natural herbs to help detoxify the skin. It helps rid the skin of impurities, it removes dead skin cells, and helps with the appearance of texture and pores. You leave it on for 45 min and wash it off feeling super refreshed. Here is a photo of me wearing the mask then what I looked like after! I shot all of these images with my Canon T5 in the AV setting using only natural light.
This is the what the May Lindstrom 'the problem solver' mask looks like after its been on for around 15 or 20 minutes. It starts to harden and your skin feels tight. But in the best way! And yes, I am sharing these raw and un-staged images because this is exactly how my mornings look. Messy bun, over sized t-shirt, and skincare. I love it. The next photo is of me shot in natural lighting with zero editing done to my skin. This is what my skin looks like after a lot of skincare love.
After the mask I mixed the Kypris Antioxidant Dew and the REN Rose Oil and mixed it all over my face and neck. Since I'm not working today or tomorrow I plan on giving my skin a much needed break from cosmetics. I hope you guys try these items out for yourselves! You can purchase all of these over at the amazing CITRINE NATURAL BEAUTY BAR! If you live in Phoenix, come swing by into the boutique and say hello! I started working there this week and I am loving it.
