Its not everyday you get an email from a bride telling you she wants "gothic chic" makeup.
I'll never forget it. I was sitting in a coffee shop downtown, headphones in, most likely overthinking and overanalyzing EVERYTHING, when I open my inbox and what in the.... I got Carrie's email.
I know I squealed and probably clapped my hands with excitement in public.
Carrie knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding and she took no hesitation in booking myself for makeup, the brilliant Kym Ventola for photography, and my dear friend Katherine Oyer of 'Lucky and in Love' for wedding planning. Carrie saw the 'Beautifully Dark' shoot we created together and knew we would be the right team for her.
I'm so glad she found us. And bonus? you know a bride is rad when she lets you wear your biggie sweater to the big day.
Carrie booked me almost a year before her wedding date. After months of corresponding back and forth with Carrie via email, you can imagine I was so excited to finally meet her in person for her trial. She was instantly warm and welcoming and I loved chatting with her about her bridesmaids dresses, her inspiration for the hues, and my pure joy over her hiring me to do my favorite makeup style. She's a trooper and even let me do a Periscope video of part of her trial run. Such a babe.
Her bridesmaids were all ridiculously beautiful. We created dark smoky eyes and deep magenta lips on all of the girls to go with their stunning bridesmaids dresses. Its the first and only wedding I've done that many smoky eye looks on.
I loved every second of it.
I mean come on. I'm swooning. Completely obsessed with the colors she chose.
Its always an immense honor to do makeup for a bride on her special day. The trust another person instils in me to help them feel their absolute best, on what I can only imagine to be one of the biggest and best days of their life, leaves me speechless. Thank you for hiring me Carrie!
